First Christmas

So our Christmas was jam packed full of great fun with both families. It all started on Christmas eve when we went to go look at Christmas lights. We couldn't decide which hat for Maddyn to wear, but we went with the blue one.

Then we were off to look at the lights. There were so many cool lights ever for Blanding. Bet you never would have thought you would see a video like the one below here in our little town. It was great fun.

Then we had to go back to the house to leave a note for Santa. Luckily Avery and Trevor took care of that. You can see which note they wrote and then the note that followed from Santa the next morning. The note from the boys said Dear Santa, we spent our day preparing this meel for you so you. We know that you will eat all of it. I no that you get a lot of cookies so we thot to make you sum reel food. Hop you like breakfast burrito. Mary christmas. The note from Santa says. Nice try you naughty little boys. I found enough of my own food on the counter. Thanks and Merry Christmas, Santa.

The next morning was so exciting for Niki. She woke up at 7:30 and no one was awake. not even peanut. At 8:30 we decided to go in and wake her up. This is how we found her. we have to sing to her to get her awake. Peanut had tons of fun opening presents. However, she did not like how she would open one toy and just when she got into it we would take it away to open another. After we opened presents we went outside to play in the 8 new inches of snow we got that morning. We had a total of 16 inches in the back yard. Peanut had fun watching us from the window and cheering us on. We played the rest of the day with the Wii that Niki got for Christmas and then packed up for our 14 hour trek to California to see Niki's family.

For the most part Peanut did ok on the trip we had to stop a couple times to have her stretch. One of those times when we were stopped, Trevor opened the back door and as soon as Maddyn saw him she smiled and said Dada. We are so counting it as her first word!!! It was so cute.

When we made it there, we had Christmas with them and spent the rest of the time playing the Wii and mastering Guitar Hero World Tour. We have the greatest band ever. Maddyn got a walking toy and is getting really good at it. You can't tell by the video but she practiced a lot after that. We made it home safe with another 14 hour trip. Trevor is off until January 5th so I am sure we will have more exciting times to come. Stay close to our blog to find out what we did the rest of xmas break.

Learning New Things

Maddyn continues to learn new things everyday. Some are great and really help out and others take more time out of our day. However, we love every minute of it. As you can see by the pictures below, She learned to take all of the DVD's out of the shelf and put them on the ground. She also learned to hold her bottle by herself. She is also getting funnier by the minute.

Peanut the Pooper pants update.

Well we havn't update our blog in a while because we lost the charger to our camera. Thanks to my very calm husband (who looked for days without getting upset at me for my ranting and raving about buying a new camera before Christmas) we found the charger between our dressers. So now I will update you on what has been happening. This last week, Peanut has done some pretty funny things. One night we were in the truck headed to a Christmas party in a hurry. I forgot to feed Peanut before we left. I turned around in the truck and told Peanut that I was sorry I was such a bad mom. She looked up at me and said "Yeah". I was in such shock I just said "what did you say" Then she began to snicker like she knew exactly what she had said. She has impeccable timing for everything. We went to a musical that TD and Steve were in last Sunday with Peanut. We knew she wasn't going to make it through the whole thing, but we tried. At the beginning there was a man talking for a while. He stopped for a second and we thought he was done. He then started talking again and Peanut let out this huge sigh. Lots of people looked at us like we did it. It was kind of embarrassing. She also has learned to take her shoes and socks off whenever she gets into her car seat. No matter how far our trip is (2 blocks) she will take them off and chew on her feet. Then it takes a while to get them back on because she never stops kicking her feet. Peanut also learned to hold her own bottle finally!! We went up to Provo for a two day trip and I didn't want to stop so I handed her the bottle and she ate the whole thing by herself. She also has learned that she can get any ones attention. Last Sunday was stake Conference. That means we go to church for 2 hours. Needless to say Peanut found many ways to entertain herself. She really wanted to play with the guy next to us and she had been staring at him for a while. He wouldn't look at her so she decided to pull out her big guns. She wiggled herself as close as she could to him and then let out the biggest burp ever. It was really funny.

This weekend Candice and Duncan came to visit. We had a ton of fun. On Friday night Trevor and I delivered some presents to a family in need. I decided it would be fun if he dressed up as Santa to help me. Peanut loved Santa ( I think she knew it was him).

Then on Saturday, we went to visit this amazing Christmas village that a lady in town had in her house. Peanut loved looking at all the lights and moving pieces. We spent like a half hour there looking at them. Peanut of course was cute as ever in her winter outfit.

So the face may look Innocent but believe me it isn't. This morning we woke up with plenty of time to get ready for church. I got all ready and went in to get Peanut up and ready for church. When I got into her room, she was laying down and wouldn't get up. She usually gets right up to see me. When I got over to the crib I could smell what she had done. There was poop everywhere. Now I am talking EVERYWHERE. I quickly scooped her up to see the damage. She was covered from head to toe. It was even behind her ears. Her favorite Minnie Mouse doll had it smeared on her face. The bumpers, sheets, 2 blankets and the slats on the crib were also covered. Needless to say she must have done it the night before when she was falling asleep because it was all dry. So we spent the rest of our time cleaning up poop and giving Peanut a much needed bath. She thought it was pretty funny. Oh yeah and to top it off now she has a major rash because the poop sat there all night.

She is getting so big!! She has outgrown most of her clothes and is now in 18 month outfits. She laughs all the time and is giving her cheeser smile to anyone who will look at her. We love her so much and she is getting funner by the day.

Cracks me up!!

My peanut is so funny lately she cracks me up all day long. She is doing so many funny things. We have only been able to catch a few on camera. The videos explain it all. Remember the post about "Cant turn your back for a second"? Well Trevor did just that and he found her in these two spots. In the video of her under the chair listen real close she repeats "Dada" after Trevor says it. She has been doing it all day and we kind of caught it on camera. She has been saying mama and dada for a while but does not connect it to us. I still dont think she connects it to us, but she can repeat it after we say it now so that is closer right?

Thankful Weekend

I wanted this post to be a continuation of "Worst Luck Ever" but after realizing that my luck could have been much worse I changed my idea to how thankful I was for the things that did happend. The first thing I am thankful for is my sister-in-law letting us stay at their house the first night and showing Maddyn how to use the walking toy. She is almost walking by herself. She can walk around the couch and table but has not dared walking without. The next thing I am thankful for it the short amount of time it took for Trevor to fix a faucet in our house for the renters. Even though he forgot to turn the water off and the mess got everywhere it worked!!! I am also thankful that my parents came to stay with us in Provo over the Holiday. Without them we would have been carless. Yes that is right, our car (the one we bought so it wouldn't beak down) broke down. This brings me to my next thankful thing. I am thankful our car did not break down in the freeway. We were able to drive it to the dealership. When it was fixed, I was very thankful we had just recieved our rent check from our renters which went directly to fixing our car.

The rest of the weekend was great. I am so thankful that our hotel had an indoor pool and Maddyn loved the water. When we held her on her belly she would kick her legs and mover her arms as if she were swimming. It was so fun to see her love the water. We went swimming every spare second we had. We also tried to nap every spare second we had. I am so thankful Maddyn slept in my parents room and they were very nice and got up with her in the night. As you can see they also took naps with her also. It was very cute.

In between the napping and the swimming we also visited the Thanksgiving Point Dinosaur museum. It was very fun. I am thankful Maddyn loved looking at all the big dinosaurs and after some coaxing sat on one for a picture. She even watched a 45 minute 3d movie with us without crying. She is such a good baby.

After the museum we got to go to dinner and swim with Harmonie and her family. The picture below is of Maddyn's new cheesy smile. I am so thankful we finally caught it on camera.

Even with all of the misfortunes we had this weekend it was really great. Thanks mom and dad for spoiling us and keeping our mind off all the bad luck we had.

Eating EVERYTHING in sight!!!

Apparently our little Peanut isn't so little any more. She eats at least 8 ounces of food every three hours and whines in between feedings because she wants to be munching on something all the time. So I dont have time to sit there and feed her one cheerio at a time so I just let her whine and apparently she will find other things to eat. Here is a list of things she has eaten in the last week.

1. Grout from the tile in the kitchen
2. Old goldfish from under the couch
3. Pieces of pinecones brought in from our shoes.
4. Pieces of string
5. Pieces of plastic
6. Dirt from the muddy shoes

Help what do I do? I think my daughter has Pica. (this is a DSM IV diagnosis where people have cravings to eat unedible things)

Worst luck Ever!!!

So everyone that knows that I have the worst luck ever is prepared for the story I am about to tell. Some people think I am kidding when I say I have this curse for weird things happening to me, but once you have heard all of my stories you would agree that I do. So we recently had a couple rent our house in Payson until the market gets better to sell it. They were even thinking about buying it because they liked it so much. I should have known that my luck would not allow that. So they called us last Monday and said "there has been a slight accident". I am thinking oh gosh they flooded the house or there is no house cause they burned it down. Oh no it wasn't that. There really was an accident in our back yard. They said that a car from the freeway crashed into the back yard and hit our shed. The girl was totally freaked out and said she was bawling all night. Not because of the crash, but because when they got out to the car the lady was frantically looking for her baby that was no longer in the car seat. They looked for two hours for the baby and the police finally let the lady call her husband and the baby was at home. Apparently when she got knocked out she thought her baby was with her cause the car seat was in the car. So needless to say I don't think they will be buying our house any time soon. By the way this is the house that we really didn't buy cause our realtor sold us the one across the street and really it was the one we have now.

Can't turn your back for a second

A couple days ago I was blow drying my hair and getting ready. Peanut was just crawling around on the ground. The phone rang so I set the blow dryer down to go answer the phone. When I turned around seriously 3 seconds later this is what she looked like. She is so fast now I can't do anything. That same day she was in our room and I went to the kitchen to get her a bottle. When I came out of the kitchen to go back down the hall, Peanut had made her way clear down the 25 foot hall to come find me.

Oregon Trip

Trevor and I went to Oregon to go see an Oregon Ducks Football game last weekend. It was a fun filled trip and very wet. We flew from Salt Lake City Portland. On the way there, Peanut was very cranky on take off and landing. We figured out that it was probably hurting her ears so on the way back we had two bottles ready to eat while the pressure was building.

When we got there, we stayed with my Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Bob. My parents weren't coming until the next day with the pack and play so Cheryl and Bob rescued us and Peanut slept in an old fashioned pack and play. She loved it. Then when grandma and grandpa came, they let her sleep with them in their room., so we really got a vacation then.

The next day we went to the beach. Trevor had never seen the Oregon coast before (neither had Peanut). She loved every minute of it. She ate the sand once and realized it wasn't a good idea. We also found 5 whole Sand dollars. I have only found 1 other in my whole life and I have been to the coast a ton.

On Saturday Trevor, my Dad and I went to the Oregon Ducks football game. It poured down rain most of the time. We had on rain coats and ponchos and still got soaked. I think my pants were an extra 20 pounds. It was a great game though and the Ducks won it right in the last minutes. Trevor had a great time and is already talking about next years game.

While we went to the game Peanut stayed home with grandma, Cheryl, Tiffany, and Gage the dog. Gage is Peanuts new friend. She really misses him. They spent most of the time together stealing each others toys to chew on.
