Oregon Trip

Last week, we made the long journey to Oregon to see my parents. It is a 15 hour drive if you dont stop very much. On the way there, we did it pretty much non stop leaving at 1:00 pm and got there at 4:30 am Utah time. Maddyn slept most of the way. This is a picture of maddyn helping me pack. She learned how to drink out of a straw and found this cup in the trash. She arried it everywhere with her.

When we got there on Saturday, we went to feed the ducks. Maddyn thought the bread was for her and fed herself. At the park there were 1,000 flags for the veterns. Maddyn was so cute running through them.

On Sunday we hiked this mountain by my house. My dad hikes it pretty often so he can get into shape. I had to just keep telling myself that if my 64 year old dad can make it up this so can I. Then when we got to the top they made me climb this tower thing that I swear was going to fall over.

On Tuesday, my dad wanted to hike part way up Mt. Shasta to see how the snow was doing. It is 2nd the largest mountain in the united states. There was a lot of snow still. You can see by the picture of Trevors leg that fell through the snow. We were the only hikers on the mountain that weren't all geared up in snow pants, boots, huge backpacks, and ice picks. However, we made it to the top in our tennis shoes and shorts.

Maddyn loved playing with my parents dog Ike. She would play fetch with him, hit him, and pull his tail.

On Wednesday we went up to crater lake. They still had quite a bit of snow. It was a clear day though and we got to see the lake!!!

We also got to play with Julies kids and run through the sprinklers. Maddyn is such a water baby. She is going to love this summer.

We decided to buy her a $7 swimming pool from Walmart. Best investment ever! She loves climbing in and out a 100 times.

We traveled back on Saturday and stayed the night in Spanish Fork. Maddyn could not longer take the trip. I calculated that she was in the car 45 hours in one week. She did pretty good considering. We had a fabulous time and can't wait to go back in July.
