Changes

I finally did it!!! I cut my hair off. It was weighing me down :) It is a little hard to get used to not flipping my hair out of my face or off my shoulders but I love it. Thanks Cami!!!

Happy 4th of July

We had a fabulous 4th of July. It was very hot and beautiful. We started out by going to the parade. Maddyn loved seeing the horses and holding her 2 pieces of candy.

Then later that afternoon we went down to the park for the cookout. It poured down rain so we had to run to the truck. It cleared up fast and the day went on.

That night, Maddyn stayed up for fire works. We had to bribe her with Cheetoes. you can see her orange face here. Her favorite thing to do while waiting for the fireworks was run down the hill and trip on the blankets. She thought it was so great.

She lasted for about 10 minutes of fire works then didnt want to sit any more. So we left and watched the finale from our house. Great Day!!!

Get Away

Since I have been working so much I decided I needed a get away. I found this great little place in Durango, CO that has mineral hot springs spas. We got to stay in a cottage on the grounds and after hours has access to the pools. We also had our own private pool spa next to our room. We got to have a couples massage then lay out by the spa when we were done. A much needed break and we really enjoyed it.

Chicago

It has long been Trevors dream to go see the Cubs play at Wrigley Field. He finaly got his chance at the end of June. He and his friend Jesse flew out to watch two games. I think he was more excited about this trip than the day his daughter was born ;) Ever since he got back he has been playing with his pictures. Here are a couple he has played around with on picnik photo editor.

Oregon Trip

Last week, we made the long journey to Oregon to see my parents. It is a 15 hour drive if you dont stop very much. On the way there, we did it pretty much non stop leaving at 1:00 pm and got there at 4:30 am Utah time. Maddyn slept most of the way. This is a picture of maddyn helping me pack. She learned how to drink out of a straw and found this cup in the trash. She arried it everywhere with her.

When we got there on Saturday, we went to feed the ducks. Maddyn thought the bread was for her and fed herself. At the park there were 1,000 flags for the veterns. Maddyn was so cute running through them.

On Sunday we hiked this mountain by my house. My dad hikes it pretty often so he can get into shape. I had to just keep telling myself that if my 64 year old dad can make it up this so can I. Then when we got to the top they made me climb this tower thing that I swear was going to fall over.

On Tuesday, my dad wanted to hike part way up Mt. Shasta to see how the snow was doing. It is 2nd the largest mountain in the united states. There was a lot of snow still. You can see by the picture of Trevors leg that fell through the snow. We were the only hikers on the mountain that weren't all geared up in snow pants, boots, huge backpacks, and ice picks. However, we made it to the top in our tennis shoes and shorts.

Maddyn loved playing with my parents dog Ike. She would play fetch with him, hit him, and pull his tail.

On Wednesday we went up to crater lake. They still had quite a bit of snow. It was a clear day though and we got to see the lake!!!

We also got to play with Julies kids and run through the sprinklers. Maddyn is such a water baby. She is going to love this summer.

We decided to buy her a $7 swimming pool from Walmart. Best investment ever! She loves climbing in and out a 100 times.

We traveled back on Saturday and stayed the night in Spanish Fork. Maddyn could not longer take the trip. I calculated that she was in the car 45 hours in one week. She did pretty good considering. We had a fabulous time and can't wait to go back in July.

Oh Gosh

So Trevor kept telling me that he was catching Maddyn playing on the shelf. She had never done it for me until today. I was doing dishes and I looked over to find her sitting on the shelf. i quickly solved that problem by putting her toys all over the shelf. We will see how long that will last.

Lazy River day

On Saturday we decided to go down to Canyonlands where we heard of this river and waterfall in the middle of the desert. Our friends Tye and Laici took us down there. We had soooo much fun. The river was like 4 inches deep and so slow moving the kids could sit in it and splash away. The weather was fabulous too; no wind and 85 degrees. Maddyn loved every second of it and we will definetly be going back.

BBQ

Last week we had our friends over for a BBQ lunch. It was one of our first days that has been really hot. It was great all day until the BBQ started then the wind began. It was still fun but a little hard to blow the bubbles. Thanks guys for a fun day!!!

Trevors graduation!!!

Last Weekend we drove up to SLC to attend Trevors graduation. We are so proud of him to have finished his masters degree!!! Maddyn is getting to the point where she really dislikes traveling. We will now be traveling at night. At the graduation Maddyn did really well and even tried to make friends with others.

New place to play

This was so cute. She took everything out of the drawer and decided it would be a great place to stand. I think my mom has a picture of me doing this when I was little too.

Moon House

Trevor and I went out a couple weekends ago to see the greatest Ruin I have ever seen. It was in great condition and still had corn husks inside with all of their paintings. It was a little bit of a walk to it but wayyy worth it. I even almost stepped on a snake.
